Operating as an innovation centered company, Sova Bedding maintains R&D studies
Sova Bedding general manager Mehtap Akkoyun believes that producing companies prefer semi-processed products for their manufacturing because it improves their flexibility to respond to the needs of different countries and different cultures. She answered our questions:
We know that you supply both. What are the advantages of providing both finished and semi-finished alternatives to your retailers and to producer companies?
Mattress industry is a large one. At the beginning we have an objective to produce innovative mattresses. We offer our wide range of product choices to all customers who want to make business with us. For our partners and potential customers it is important that producers prefer especially to have semi-finished products.

What are your priorities during product development and R&D activities?
Our R&D studies are going on to secure quality. The major aim of R&D is to keep our quality. We have several products that some are in the process of technical development and the ones that we did not launch them yet. Certainly, we try to foresee the future needs of our customers. For this reason, our team is trying to watch the competition and to develop technology based products. Our aim is to develop new mechanisms that will make the mattresses more flexible thanks to several movements of the parts.
Would you mention about your foreign trade activities? Which countries do you have on your target list?
As you know, one step of our company is in Europe. Most of our exports goes to Europe, that was followed by Gulf countries, North Africa, South America and England.
What are your expectations for 2017?
People are becoming more sensitive about their sleep quality. I believe that more innovative, more comfortable, product varieties will be launched in 2017. Fairs are important in our business. It is a chain of opportunities for finding new ideas for production, innovations and applications in one place.
