Ali Sami Aydın becomes the new president of TETSIAD

3rd Ordinary General Meeting of TETSIAD, which is the umbrella organization of Turkey’s home textile sector, was held with the participation of numerous sector representatives in Turkey Exporters’ Assembly (TIM) on Thursday on 16.06.2016. Ali Sami Aydın was elected as the president of Turkish Home Textile Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TETSIAD), which has a large share in the development of the Turkish home textile industry.

 

Change of guard has been made for the presidency task in the 3rd Ordinary General Assembly of TETSIAD, which is the umbrella organization of Turkey’s home textile sector.

Attended by important representatives of the textile sector the General Assembly of TETSIAD started with one single candidate list upon the consensus of the sector. Ali Sami Aydın became the new president unanimously of the general assembly members’ as a result of voting. Ali Sami Aydın and Board of Directors, who took over the task from Yasar Kucukcalık, were appointed for the period of 2016-2019 of the association.

Aydın: “We will move the Turkish home textile sector to the position that it deserves”

Ali Sami Aydın, the new president of TETSIAD, said that they were aware of the responsibilities and challenges that this task brought in speech of acceptance, and that they would fulfill the task adequately so as to move the Turkish home textile sector a step further. Aydın, who thanked to Yasar Kucukcalık, the former chairman of TETSIAD, said, “We will determine the strategies of the home textile sector for the future with all our partners in the sector. We will carry out many studies within the scope of such strategy from Nano textile to smart textile, from forming new markets to domestic and abroad fairs and particularly from organizing Ur-D  (Communiqué on Supporting the Development of International Competitiveness) and R –D studies. We will bring EVTEKS, which is one the second most important fairs of the world, and Home&Tex Fair which facilitates great movement for the sector in a much better place and that we will work with a participative management style with the support of all our members to strengthen our association and the industry.

Aydın who is emphasizing that a kilo of textile is more expensive and more added value than automobile, said, “We will continue or work to ensure that this perception fits and that our sector sees the value it has deserved in all the public, governmental circles and particularly in our own sector”.
